Accutane Attempt

by Megan
(Wisconsin)

I have never had very severe acne, but it is persistent, and most treatments have never been very successful. After trying just about everything, my dermatologist finally put me on Accutane. I could tell a difference right away, because I started to get dandruff; my scalp is usually on the oily side, and I'd never had dandruff before then. It seemed to be working, but then I had an allergic reaction and developed hives on my arms, legs, neck and stomach. They concluded it must have been the Accutane, and took me off of it after about one month. If I didn't have such a reaction to it, I would be willing to try it again, because I really could see a difference - oil production-wise - almost right away.
